Why is my Bluetooth connection breaking up frequently?

I have always been experiencing poor Bluetooth connection to wireless speakers, wireless headphones and other Bluetooth accessories.

I ordered a new Bluetooth and Wi-Fi antenna from IFIXIT and managed to replace it without any issues. I also reset all the network settings but still issue seems to be repeating.

Connection with all Bluetooth accessories (Sony and JBL wireless Bluetooth speakers, Marshall wireless headphones, even Airpods) keeps breaking up and music is paused thus making Bluetooth connections unusable.

Apple CarPlay was working fine (and Wi-Fi has no issues).

Any ideas of what (else) could I do about this?

Thanks a lot.

Hi

I had a similar issue to this and I found using a different streaming service made the issue go away but a couple weeks later I went back to my original music service and it was normal

Hopefully this is helpful to you

Thanks:)

Have tried TuneIn, Spotify, YouTube. Breaks up with everything.

The most annoying bit is that it breaks up during phone calls using a Bluetooth motorcycle helmet device (where a Poco F1 is perfectly stable..).

I like the SE so much but cannot continue living with this issue..

Thank you for your answer though..

I know not everyone likes wiping devices (my self included)but some issues can be resolved by wiping/restoring the device with iTunes,I thought maybe the issue might be to do with a dodgy driver because you mentioned replacing the Bluetooth antenna which usually rules out the hardware aspect of things but it’s up to yourself if you want to do it however I can’t guarantee it will work

Thanks

thank you very much for your answers :)

I did a full wipe out without iTunes and starting from scratch having the phone perfectly clean I tried my Marshall Bluetooth wireless headphones. After 5 minutes, and being literally next to the phone the whole time, connection was lost and music stopped playing.

No hope I guess but thanks again for all your answers and your time :)

So, since I don't give up easily, I thought I should try something else.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share the same antenna and -theoretically- this should be fine. But I tried this:

Deactivating completely the Wi-Fi (from Settings) and connecting to a wireless Bluetooth speaker, I started playing music (locally stored). Activating Wi-Fi caused an immediate drop of the Bluetooth connection!

For the use that I am interested in, I am not interested in having Wi-Fi activated during my Bluetooth connectivity adventures :P

One more test to go, and the SE may be up and running again!

HelloMacOS, can you reproduce this with your devices? It would be interesting to see if Wi-Fi reactivation causes a Bluetooth connection to drop in other devices as well.
