reset password on a used phone

I have reset my phone as it is a used phone I have bought but now it must use the old owner's code and I do not have it what can i do

typically passwords on phones are meant to keep thieves from reselling a stolen phone. if you cant get the original owner to remove the old password you are more than likely out of luck. ive heard of ways of work arounds and hacks to get by it but that would require quite a bit of knowledge to do.

@Cameron Miller because its next to impossible to get around a code lock. thats the point to have passwords on things. if anything this is a great learning experience for them

When resetting a phone, the phone first prompts you to enter the phone's access code. Resetting it without the code is impossible. Signing into the phone to use it at all is impossible, as well.

I wonder why the previous owner didn't give you the code.

If he's not responding, then that means you have his contact information. Try contacting the police and let them know you were scammed. Once they apprehend the person, you can get your money back.

But just to be clear, you did not reset the phone. You would need the phone's PIN code to do that.
