I had my oil changed a few weeks ago. Then the car started with a lite skip. Now it is skipping so bad I have to stay on the gas at a red light to keep it running.

Sounds to me like it's missing firing a cylinder. Take it in to an Auto Zone for a free computer readout. It may be just a loose wire.

Deborah, when you say it is skipping, what exactly are you referring to? It sounds like you have no idle. It will stall (turn off) when you take your foot of the gas? How does it start? What exact year is it, how many miles, and what type of transmission (automatic or Manual) does it have. Any Service Engine Light come On?
