Mute button, sim card eject, camera, logic board

I really give up with this thing. I changed the rear panel to white some time ago because my girlfriend wanted it. She decided to go for a blackberry so I reverted back to black.

Was perfect when I went to white and now going back to black has caused several problems. Cant understand how badly Ive messed things up.

Mute button is jammed wont change position, Ive took apart iphone again and cant see whats blocked.

Cannot keep camera attahced to logic board, every time I put connector in place it comes free when I insert logic board. Have tried putting camera in place then inserting logic board but no luck.

When I insert sim it doesnt press down on the little metal thing so no signal.

Sim card wont eject, I think it is to do with the little plastic spacer thing on the gps, I cant find screw, and ifixit doesnt say what size the screw is.

I'd say if I sent it for repair it will cost near the price of the phone.

Hopefully someone can help and hopefully I can tick a few repairs off the list.

Possibly you have the mute switch incorrectly aligned with the button. Place the switch on the flex on the mute setting (down) and try again. This will help aligning it.

Possibly you have the camera holder/lens not correct in place causing it to press on the flex when you put the logic board back.

When I insert sim it doesnt press down on the little metal thing so no signal.

Looks like you can't insert the logic board enough to the top. Might also be related to the camera disconnecting. The power button plastics holds the logic board from the top. Check if you have installed this one right. This might cause an offset.

Just order a new one. If have a lot of them in spare. If I can help you with sending one please let me know.

Thank you for your reply. Ive actually sorted two of the problems but have created another one in the process....lol

Mute button needed to be pressed down before lining up, found correct screw to fit spacer.

BUT Ive broken the little copper hook thingy that is connected to the logic board just above connector 7. What is the purpose of this hook and should it just be an easy solder. Im not too handy with soldering but this would appear quite doable.

Still working on the camera issue, thats how I broke this hook.

The little hook/prong/fin I believe you are talking about sticks out near the bottom most right hand screw? [it is just under the lowest screw]

If so, I believe this is related to cellular, it acts as a ground i believe as it is designed to connect with the metal ring of the phone.

I have heard of many people soldering this back on with no problems so its worth a shot!
