Can copper contacts be repaired

so I have an authentic copy of Pokemon sapphire that only works here and there as such I have taken to keeping it in my spare gameboy for now but can the missing copper contact be repaired? I would likely look for a pro as I have never soldered anything myself

It's unlikely a game with missing copper contacts would play at all. I'd say the contacts are just dirty. Take an eraser/rubber and rub the contacts to clean them. Should fix the issue. If there really are missing copper contacts i would need to see a picture to help you further.

It doesn't look like any of the contacts are missing but seems like the plating on a couple contacts has started to wear off. So long as the actual pad itself is not lifted or eaten away it is possible to replate the contacts, using an electro plating process. I've even seen people put a very thin coat of solder over a contact to keep it from corroding, though that isn't something I would recommend. It might be cheaper and less time consuming to just purchase a new copy than replating your current copy if you do not already have the tools and materials. You could even order replacement PCBs and swap over all the components. I found a listing on PCBWay.com specifically for pokemon GBA games listed as AGB-E02-20 | Game Boy Advance | Replacement PCB

thanks I was pondering having a professional fix it anyway as they know what they are doing better I would you still say is better to move the parts to a donor board or replace because from what I know the cost was estimated by 1 company to be about the same to fix up the contacts as to buy a new copy
