Broken pin in battery connector on logic board

I wonder if anyone can help me with this please ? After having some difficulty in getting a replacement battery for my Macbook Pro to fit in the internal jack on the motherboard, I found that one of the pins was bent (the 2nd one from the left as you look at in to it from the battery side), and later broke off when I tried to straighten it with a plastic spudger. My MBP still recognises and charges the battery though, so was wondering if anyone can tell me what this PIN was for, and if it’s ok to keep running my laptop with it missing, or if it will affect battery performance ? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

The 3 first pins in the socket carries power to/from the battery and are on the same circuit. Other pins are for data lines and ground so you’ll be OK with only two power pins. Just make sure that the broken pin don’t short the data pin cause you would inject 12v in a 3.42v circuit. Not good…
