How do I find if my battery or charger is faulty

I got a Second hand macbook air that used to be in a school for free yesterday I had to reinstall MacOS to get into macos the charger is second hand it powers up but does not charge I have no way to find the wattage as the charger is second hand I belive it is 45 watts in the macos system report it does not show wattage and the battery is on a faily low charge cycle

Does the LED on the Power Adapter turn orange or green?

What does your wattage show under System Report? Is it just empty?

System Report will also tell you if the battery is charging? What does that say?

If you click on the battery icon in the Menu bar up top what does it say?Does it show a battery service error or anything?

The LED is Off, Their is no Wattage, It says the Battery is Not Chargeing. Sorry for bad english and slow responses I was trying to get into diagnostics mode.

Diagnostics mode isnt avaliable on my specific macbook or the school that previously used it had disabled it somehow or removed it entirely not sure if that helps at all

You can try a SMC reset and see if the LED on the Power Adapter turns on. If that doesn't work you may need to try a new Power Adapter.

How to reset SMC:

1. Choose Apple menu > Shut Down and wait for your Mac to shut down.

2. Press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the built-in keyboard, then press the power button at the same time. Hold these keys and the power button for 10 seconds. If you have a MacBook Pro with Touch ID, the Touch ID button is also the power button.

3. Release all keys.

4. Press the power button again to turn on your Mac.

@memphismac I have tried a SMC Reset to no avalie any other things to try?

is Voltage a good indication my macbook reports the voltage as 3900MV while the IFixit Replacement batterys are 7600mv?

Can you post the info under System Report > Power > Battery Information just so we can see what they show?

I still feel like it's a power adapter issue.
