What kind of battery does the 2nd gen Apple Pencil use?

I have two apple pencils, one that I use daily and one as a backup. I am wondering if they need to be rotated to avoid completely draining the battery and destroying the unit. Lithium batteries typically fail when drained all the way as a safety precaution. But I can’t find any documentation on the battery chemistry of the second generation apple pencil.
