Battery drain after replacing smahsed screen.

I replaced my smashed screen on my pixel 3xl and now my battery is draining down very fast (getting about 5 hours from a full charge). The phone seems to charge up at about the normal rate, but feels hot when charging and being used. I have tried a factory reset but this hasn’t fixed the issue.

Could this mean that I might have damaged the battery/charging coil during my repair?

Can anyone offer any help or advice on fixing this problem?

I’m pretty new to repairs but followed the steps to disconnect and reconnect the battery safely.

Do these symptoms seem like they could be the result of a damaged battery? Is it usually best to replace the battery when carrying out screen repairs?
