Well This Just Got A lot Harder

So here's the short story, I was doing a screen replacement on my tablet and broke the latch off of the screen connector. Now the screen doesn't show any signs of life. How could I repair this? Should I take this to a board repair shop? Also, I have no experience doing board repairs.
