My fans are running full speed and making a lot of noise while playing

So a few weeks ago I opened my PS4 for cleaning, removed all the dust and replaced the thermal paste because it was heating up my room. It was running fine, temps were cool but the fans were making a lot of noise. At the time I thought it was normal however my girlfriend begs the differ. Any ideas what might have caused this?
