Enclosure for Blade iMac Mid 2017 Drive

I pulled my internal Blade SSD from the iMac Mid 2017 and replaced with an OWC 2TB…

Now Is there an enclosure I can use for the factory apple Blade SSD as an external drive?

OWC told me it won't work... anyone else tried it?

mmm ... I think the person you spoke too just did what most people do look at the spec sheet and as OWC doesn't list it assumes it won't work!

Apple hasn't altered the design of the blade SSD's still sticking with the PCIe 3.0 x4 spec. design used in the iMac's (excluding the iMac Pro).

OK, Let's look at this the other way OWC Aura Pro X2 240GB NVMe SSD Upgrade Solution For select 27" and 21.5" iMac models (Late 2013 - Current) What do you see in the lower compatibility section? iMac w/Retina 5K display (27-inch Mid 2017)

So... There SSD fits the system so the interface it uses is compatible, What would be different here? Other than testing.

Granted I have not tried my self in doing this with the 2017 models SSD, it just doesn't make any sense why it wouldn't work.

Thats like saying the toaster you use in your kitchen wall plug won't work in the dinning rooms outlet! The only thing that might be a factor is power a denser SSD might need more power like the toaster might not work on the 15 Amp outlet in the dinning room unlike the 20 Amp line you have in the kitchen! But do we have that here? Don't think so.

One last data point! This is what your system would have for a SSD from Apple Samsung 1TB SSPOLARIS SSD its a PCIe 3.0 x4 drive.
