Need help with blade SSD

Hi everyone,

I want to share my experience with a SSD NVMe replacement :

I replaced SSD blade on my 27” 5K late 2015 (A1419, 17,1) with a 500go Western digital “black” serie NVMe .

I used a small adapter as required to install the disk on the motherboard.

It worked perfectly for 2 months. but all of a sudden, strange things happened : My imac faced a display problem, like the GPU was dead. Then the fan started to run at full speed because of kernel overload (700% resources). After hard reboot, the Kernel error was still present, with a very slow system and fans running at full speed. I had to perform a SMC reset to go back to normal. After many attempts to reinstall the system and check hardware problems (apple AHT didn’t find any thought) I finally decided to replace this drive with the original 24gb drive and now everything is ok, it works perfectly.

Do you know which NVMe drive is suitable with this model ? I can’t find any OWC compatible SSD, or othe brands, This imac is never listed as compatible !
