If I forgot my Apple ID password.
Will replacing the logic board with a paired Face ID sensor allow me to use my phone again? Or will it still be activation locked.

If you forgot your Apple ID password - simply get in contact with the Apple support. If you are the owner, they will help you.

You will need the motherboard, front camera, earpiece speaker/proximity sensor for face Id to work. But if you are just interested in getting the phone working and you don't care about face Id then you only have to replace the motherboard.
