MBP refuses to power up after SMC reset

My MBP was working fine before the SMC reset, but I did it because it kept waking up from sleep – it has been an ongoing issue for months.

I finally did SMC reset in accordance to https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT201295 but it won’t power back on after that.

When I did the SMC reset, I was holding the power button for 10 seconds after shut down, the Apple logo was showing momentarily (around 2 seconds of holding or so), and it went off as I kept on holding (around 4-5 seconds mark). That was the last time my MBP was showing any signs of life at all.

Now it won’t respond to any power button presses, further SMC resets (including the 4 keys presses), NVRAM reset, or even plugging in of power cable (no audible sounds). I also ruled out the possibility that my chargers are not working by validating with other Macs.

I have a feeling that something shorted during the SMC reset – is that even possible? And how do I validate? Though the MBP has never been opened up, I'm okay with some tinkering.
