Is it possible to move my ram and SSD over to a new MacBook?

I’m buying a new laptop for myself, and I’m planning to upgrade to a 2014 Macbook Pro. I’ve worked on computers, phones, and tablets before so I have the tools and skills to replace the parts on most devices (can’t solder though). I upgraded my current machine (2010 Unibody Macbook) to a 250gb SSD and two 4gb memory sticks. So I’m wondering if it would be possible for me to transfer these parts to my new computer and have everything work correctly. I’ve heard that there is trouble on some models doing this and it’s fine on others so I want to know if it’s possible for mine. Thanks!
