Flickering chromebook screen while opening.
Sometimes when I open my Chromebook the screen glitches for a bit. Any idea why it does this?

Hello Min. (:
Here’s how to fix your Chromebook screen:
Perform a hard reset of the Chromebook. Sometimes, this will remove these lines since you are resetting the hardware. or,
Restore your chromebook. This will reinstall Chrome OS which will eliminate the issue if it is a software conflict. or,
Take your chromebook to a repair store.
Hope this helps. (:

wow that did no work &&^& you
bruh bruh bruh
I have tried the hardware reset it didn’t do anything but make my screen white now it’s not coming up I can’t see anything
Actually this is due to display connector to the motherboard. This mainly only happens when moving the top lid of the chromebook around and showing pixelated lines and eventually freezing. If chromebook is under warranty the motherboard will be replaced. If its not under warranty it is paper weight.
and i got the laptop from school , what should i say to them , it just happen or its my problem 😂
I have no idea hop that helps

Huh???? Hey, man, are you good?
Hard reset did nothing
the same thing has been happening to me!
one of the reasons why this happens is because your screen is too bright. Try turning your brightness down a little.
Hope this helps! :)

my brightness is basically at its lowest and it still wont go away
I tried everything, nothing is working
Amazingly this was very effective for me on my 3 year-old Samsung V2 Chromebook. It made my machine usable again. The issue is intermittent for me, so this was a good alternative for when it flared up again.
One morning, I opened my old chromebook and it was so dim. I tried setting the brightness at a high level and then rebooting it when it didn't work, but still no luck.
Either shut down your chromebook and then open it again, or set the brightness level on high. If neither one works, get a professional to help. I don't know, that's all I can say. I hope either one of these solutions will help you. Good luck :)

Hello, I am a Chromebook user and I'm having an issue where my screen would flicker on low brightness (Around 50% Brightness halfway) And my screen would glitch showing static lines black bars, and shifting bits of the screen is there any way to fix this without resetting or reinstalling Chrome OS? This is a school Chromebook but the school I go to does not have any Chromebooks available till next year.

@Trenton Weaver Actually this is due to display connector to the motherboard. This mainly only happens when moving the top lid of the chromebook around and showing pixelated lines and eventually freezing. Reinstalling OS or powerwashing is not going to help. If chromebook is under warranty the motherboard will be replaced. If its not under warranty it is paper weight. I would suggest contacting your teacher or IT person for the school or you can check the dell warranty page to see if its under warranty your self. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us?...

It's not uncommon for display cables to fail in the laptop hinge, but the HDMI output should still work so you could still use it by plugging it into an external display. It wouldn't hurt to do a Powerwash, though.
