My laptop will not turn off and also the screen is black

I opened my laptop. The keyboard wasn’t working, it wasn’t registering anything. I figured it may have been because it wasn’t updated yet and the mousepad still worked, so i clicked on Update & Restart. as it was restarting it said it ran into an error, the laptop would restart on its own. then the screen flashed black and, along with two other messages i didn’t have time to read, it said “Keyboard not registered”. Then it just went black and will not turn off. the power button is lit and so is the lenovo red dot on the outside, so it is at least partly awake. ive held the button as long as one minute and still no response. i’ve closed and opened it still no response. i’m so frustrated right now i might just slam it against a door frame for a guaranteed response but i wanted to see if i could fix this first. My laptop is about three years old, was bought directly off Lenovo’s online store and has no warrantee. It’s never malfunctioned before and i was on no sketchy websites leading up to this malfunction. Please help, I need this for my classes and studies and i’m trying not to panic !!!!!!!! Thank you.
