Old battery removed and it’s hot

So I replaced my phone battery and I noticed that the old one got kinda bent in the process and now it has gotten hot. Should I be worried and how should I dispose of it?

Put it in a fireproof container and take it outside where fire wouldn’t cause a problem. If it got bent and is getting hot, it could catch fire any second.
