Samsung UN58H5202AF Television won't turn on and no standby light.

Hello,

I turned on my television, 58” samsung UN58H5202AF, this morning and watched it for about half an hour. I then left the room for about 20 minutes leaving the tv on. When I came back the television was off and wouldn’t turn on and there is no standby light in the bottom right corner like usual. There was no power outage in the house and the cable box and streaming box that are plugged into the same power bar are both working fine.

I searched on here for solutions and found the solution to unplug the television and then hold the power button on the tv for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. This didn’t fix my problem.

I’ve also seen that there is a class action lawsuit against samsung for faulty electrical components in some of there televisions. I’m not sure if I fall into this category or not.

I also tested the ceramic fuse while it is still on the power board with a multi-meter and it seems to be fine, although I did read that testing it while it is on the board may give a false reading that the fuse is still good. But I couldn’t get the fuse out easily and didn’t want to break anything.

I’ve also read that there are poor relays on some models of samsung televisions and if you tap on them it will solve the problem. I however am not 100% positive which is the relay and what I’m supposed to tap on.

Here are pictures of the model, a sticker inside the tv and the power board itself if they provide any help.

I hope this gives a good enough description of the problem for someone to help me solve this. The TV is only a few years old and I don’t really want to replace it if I don’t have to. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

@mithoty start by replacing Q9101 and bring the backlight brightness down. Check the voltages on your LED connector. The LED's are burning out the IC causing your board to fail. So the proper fix will most likely consist of replacing the backlight array and repairing the MOSFET Q9101
