How to clean grinder chute disk on Breville YouBrew 600XL?

Can the rotating disk on the Breville YouBrew 600XL coffee grinder-brewer be removed and cleaned? This model has a rotating disk that blocks or opens the chute from the grinder into the grounds basket. After years of use, the disk on my unit turns fitfully, after a delay, or not at all. Any suggestions?
