Black screen on startup, no logo nor boot

Hi,

My Asus ROG GL502VS was working fine one day, I shut it down and day after, try to start it again.

I get a very strange screen with buttons and progress bar but not way to click on anything. I force shutdown it.

Then try to boot it again and get an instant black screen. Nothing more(tried to let it black for a few hours). Not working anymore.

The capslock key is triggered and fan are running after a few seconds.

I’ve tried the following:

  • Reset AC supply
  • Remove battery and discharge then try again
  • Remove 1 then 2 RAM piece / exchange places
  • Can’t try on external monitor ATM.

I’m afraid to have break the BIOS or anything on boot section.

Anyone got an idea? :(

Thank you

The Caps Lock might be the error code, does it blink after you turn on the laptop?

For my part, there has been no change, I just watched on the net and wholesale microsoft bios well block I let leave 1h nothing at all so I found the computer and the impossible that it turns on again I try everything clear cmos remove the battery

so I'm resoulue in my head my pc is 2 years old and he and death

Solución Elegida

Got some info from you in the comments and we believe this to be a corrupt BIOS flash. I believe the easiest and cheapest way to correct this would be to replace the BIOS chip on the motherboard. There are several options online for replacement chips.

This will require reworking tools, such as a heating station and various soldering equipment. If you've brought a repair tech in already you could probably get them to do this if you don't have the tools or are uncomfortable attempting the repair yourself.

If you search for your laptop and BIOS chip on eBay there should be plenty of options to choose from. I don't have a suggestion on which one to pick. Just make sure they have decent feedback and seem legit like with anything on eBay.

Good luck!

This seems promising, reading from the description from a technician's point of view I would recommend this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BIOS-CHIP-ASUS-...

OP make sure to read item description carefully so you know what info you need to message them to get the right chip.
