My JBL Charge 4 bluetooth speaker was working fine until it suddenly stopped playing sound (even the ones it plays when it turns on, off, etc.). I don’t know what could’ve caused this since I don’t use the speaker on max volume. Speaker was charged and it connects fine, hasn’t gotten extremely wet either.

Try powering on yourJBL Charge 4 first and wait for the LED indicator to turn on. Then try holding down the play/pause button and the volume up button up to 20 seconds and that should factory reset your device. Then try again and see if it makes sound.
I personally have a JBL Xtreme and I’ve had similar problem and factory reset fixed mine. Hopefully it works for you too.

Ok so this is the wrong combination for the Charge 4, mine also didn't reset and stopped turning on. I've finally found that to fix it again, you have to plug it in so the power lights up. Then hold Bluetooth and play buttons until it switches off. Then you can unplug and switch on as normal. That was an hour of stress I didn't need
Mine started working somehow, i pressed both the power and connect+ button together. While keeping these pressed, press the play and volume up. I somehow got mine back to life.
Try this again and again after putting into charge and removing it from charging.

Worked like a charm although I don't understand how and why I was able to to upgrade my speaker off of my phone.....
mine did the same thing after falling. I took it apart and found the part the red arrow is pointing at was dislodged. I pushed it back in and it started working again but only when I’m pushing down on it. Not sure how to keep the downward pressure with glue.

I had this problem and in my case solution was surprisingly stupid. Apparently I was connected to speaker on 2 devices. On pc, which was the music source, and on phone, which I used to browse reddit. Eventually I was stumbling on videos on reddit, and even without sound when you start looking at them, speaker stops playing sound on pc. So basically try checking for when exactly music stops and if it’s somehow related to what you are doing at the moment.

My JBL charge 4 was playing music then all of a sudden it stopped playing it won't turn on but when I plug it in the power button light turns on but don't do nothing I tried pressing the power button plus volume up button and nothing

Did you ever get the audio working on your charge4? Mine has no audio also.

Jbl started having severe noise distortion and all of a sudden just stopped playing or making sounds at all. No power up or power down sound even though it seems to be connected to my phone. It is fully charged and brand new. Any advice?

Same problem with mine, though no noise distortion before it fell silent suddenly. It was playing normally, then suddenly nothing. No power up or power down sounds, no connect sounds though it is connecting. Nothing. Pretty much still new. What’s the problem here?

For the charge 4, the reset buttons changed to the play/pause button and the bluetooth button

anyone got a solution for this? my Charge 4 just stopped producing any sound for no absolute reason, even the on/off sound is not played now, it connects normally but totally silent. factory reset didn't solve it. any help?
