so i put my phone to charge overnight and i woke up to it being very hot and totally blacked out.. its been about 5—6 hours since ive noticed and ive been trying the lock and volume (-) button trick but its not working.. i have horrible luck with phones PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help !

Has anything happened to the phone recently, such as a drop, repair or contact with water?
It sounds like there was some internal damage to the phone, probably due to the charging. It could be a spontaneous failure or it could be related to a poor quality charging brick and cable. It’s best to only use Apple or MFi certified chargers.
If you are using a quality charger and nothing else has happened to the phone, then it may just be a spontaneous failure of some modular or board-level component. Ideally you will need some quality or known-good replacement parts to do some proper troubleshooting. If you don’t want to but parts up front, consider having this looked at by an independent repair shop.

Would you think its a battery related problem?

i really think so.. my phone was super hot and was on the charger over night under my pillow by accident.. now its been about 9 hours since and it still wont turn on
