iPod Classic keeps saying "Use iTunes to Restore"

When the iPod boots/turns on, I get a message saying “Use iTunes to Restore.” And only a few times, did iTunes recognize my iPod and I was able to restore it. Other times, iTunes would tell me that the iPod is corrupted or nothing would pop up. There are also times, where when I press the SELECT + MENU to reboot the iPod, the iPod would display the message, then a few seconds the iPod would work as normal. (Displaying the menu) But, the message would substitute for the Apple logo boot screen, making me unable to see when the iPod is booted.

At this point, I mostly suspect that this issue is caused by the logic board, since when not inserting a hard drive or using a different working hard drive, it would still ask me to restore via iTunes.

In the image above, I’m not sure if those chips are normally suppose to be hot. But, the chip with the big Apple logo and the chip to the right of the display connector tends to be really hot.

I was wondering if anyone knows what parts of the logic board needs to be replaced via soldering, or if there are other troubleshooting steps that I have missed.
