How can I reattach laser cable housing to motherboard?

Thanks for the response @kingspc ! I am new in this world of motherboards and electronics in general. I will buy a solder kit and go to town on this tiny thing. Any advice before i venture on to this?

My advice is: BE CAREFUL.

Not only are you at risk of burning yourself but you can also damage nearby components on the board by using too much heat.

When soldering its important that you're in a well ventilated area, the fumes from the flux can be harmful.

Pro Tip: you never have enough hands and you can never see what you’re working on TOO well when soldering. Invest in a hands-free lighted magnifier of some sort whether its a desk mounted or head mounted unit.

Also you’ll probably want to remove the old solder before flowing on the new, so make sure you get a solder wick too.

YouTube and iFixit will be your friends while you learn this new skill. Make sure you’re ready before you jump in there.

Thank you for the words of wisdom! I will make sure to study this until i am certain i wont slay my old trusted playstation. I will also invest in a proper solder kit and all the little bits that you mentioned, just to keep the odds that i can do this a tiny bit higher. Anyway, thanks again for taking the time!
