IOS 12 touch issues

Hi ya’ll!

So, it seems apple is still at it, with making our lives hard. I've recently experienced iphone 7 plus aftermarket screens, where the touch stopped working directly after an update to ios 12. I haven't had that confirmed yet - have any of you experienced the same?

If so, I think it's the same issue as on ip6s a while ago, and also ip8. Make sure to use screens with original IC, so it won't be an issue - at least until apple throws in a fix in an update, like the other times. They claim to have removed ALS issues, but there has been reports of issues still. Best bet is to keep moving screen data with ALS-BOX, to prevent issues.

Can anyone give me feedback here? Thanks in advance.

Update (09/25/2018)

So yeah, I've gotten the news from one of our suppliers - there is issues with IC’s of sub par quality, go for oem screens with original IC's, and all should be good..:) same as ip6s on ios 10 (i think it was), and ip8 on ios 11..:) will most likely be solved on update..:)

Hi Mikkel, that's an interesting observation! Wouldn't be surprised at all :(.

@Minho - yeah, it's a very apple-like-dick-move.. They pulled the same with 6s, I have a post about it here as well.. And supposedly also some types of oem 8/plus, along with the homebutton flex - so I wouldn't be surprised by this, but we'll see what people find out and..;)

Thanks for keeping us updated!

Yeah I had a feeling this was the case. I wonder when my supplier will catch on to it.

Already had a few iPhone 7s with this issue for aftermarket screens.

@benjamen50 it certainly can't be a coincidence that every major update brings the same issues.

I thought the same thing. However, I ‘ve done that already. Several times. It makes minimal difference. Thinking about replacing the touch part if the screen. Will also allow me to upgrade battery. It’s at 82% and charges fast but battery life is like a newborn mouse in a mongoose nest filled with a striving family.

Is it possible that the few (cough cough) times I have dropped it, the mechanical part of the touch alignment mechanism unaligned. Or do I just have weird under powered finger tips. All joking aside, I wonder if that is a real medical condition?

Sincerely with thanks,

Keith A. Istre

Dear Passive/Agressive Conrads of Lord Apple and It’s innovation,

Have similar issues. What are the symptoms?

My list includes;

  1. Screen corners not reacting (like where the system back bottoms are usually). The corners back bottom will not react while I can still scroll the page.
  2. Also, I had to turn 3D Touch off because a touch harder than the first degree would get both the second and third pressure option at the same time.
  3. Finally (this may just me, my wide fingertips, getting old, are just doing it wrong),I can not seem to touch the correct intended pixels. This is especially bad the keyboard.

Thanks y’all for the support.

Sincerely,

Keith Istre
