1 roku keeps shutting off
why does my roku 3 keep shutting down?

Thanks but I did. Tried different HDMI as well as the three RCA jacks and also 2 different tv’s. I also reset the Roku to factory settings and even then, it shut down while loading all the channels. As I was re-setting it up it accepted the wireless name/password and started to load 1 of 88 channels but shut down while the channels were loading. I unplugged and plugged back in and it started loading 1 of 52 channels then shut down again midstream. Re-booted again and loading 1 of 33… shut down a couple more times but finally completed. After ALL that back to the same thing. after 2 to 5 minutes of watching whatever it shuts down.

Frustrated had enough can get relief from my Roku shutting down every 5-10 minutes and going back to the home screen. Tried everything recommended. I did a hard reset where I had to enter everything again. This started 3 months a go. Nothing changed in my home. No new additions added electronically. No matter what I watch it goes back to home screen. I called my I .T provider everything is up to par. I called Amazon prime everything checked out. Changed HDMI cables and cleaned the metal ends with alcohol. Unplugged the Roku device,reset my router,etc. I'm at a loss what to do next.i did a hard reboot with Roku. Can't talk to Roku tech support. This is a growing problem. In my opinion it just might be a hardware problem it software problem because do many people are having issues with a variety of streaming devices according to the posts provided. How do we get professional help from Roku? I feel that they don't take this matter seriously. Just venting exasperated.

I too have had troubles recently. It cuts off mid stream & goes to the main menu with no, warning. With streaming services like Netflix or, Hulu, we can always go back to where the show left off but, live shows on Sling, it becomes annoying. Tried updating the system, but to no avail. I will try replacing the hdmi but, I seriously doubt it will work. I'm sleptical about buying a new box because of, this problem happening again. The box is only two years old and this is very disappointing.

Everyone I just talked to someone about this problem, cause I am experiencing the same problem with my tv... The man told me that there should be vents in the back of the tv, try getting a can of air and start spraying the vents in your tv, cause it might be that it is dusty and needs to be cleaned out...

My case is really weird. I started to have trouble when I got a new Sony BluRay. Since I plugged it in, the Roku only stays on about 10 minutes and then shuts off. I can only get it to turn back on if I turn on the BluRay! I can’t imagine what’s going on. Should I call Roku tech support? Or Sony?
