Overheating after top case replacement?

I spilled liquid on the MacBook and it messed up the keyboard. I bought a replacement top case that came with the battery, trackpad, and keyboard. I got everything switched over and it’s been working great. However, today is the first time I’ve done anything really intensive with it. I’ve doing some video editing, rendering, uploading, etc. It seemed like the fans were running longer than normal. I download istat and with only running mail, excel, and safari, and safari is uploading a 2 gb file, my cpu temp is hovering around 170 degrees F. Does that seem high? It spiked up to 204 for a minute and the fan started to come on.

I did buy the Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste and the arcticlean remover and purifier. I followed the directions but I’m wondering if maybe I didn’t get the paste on correctly? Maybe I put too much on? I wonder about getting too much one when I did it.
