Received an update notification on my iPhone 8 the other day and installed the update as usual. When the update was completed, it was stuck on Apple logo for hours. I don’t know how to get it fixed.

I've had similar problems before because my iPhone was repaired once,
but I don't know much about you iPhone. I don't know what you did before upgrading your iPhone .

If it won't work for u ,you'd better take it to the repair shop, or contact Apple

Is there any other damage to the phone? Was there any repairs prior to the update?

If there was no issues prior to the update try updating the phone via iTunes or 3utools first then try restore as last resort as that wipes data when restore is done.
How to do an update or restore on an iPhone stuck on apple logo:
Everything is fine before the update.
Take it to the Apple store if restore doesn't work they have to get it working for you when it's in warranty.
