Touch ID Issues After Panel Replacement (Original Home Button)

I replaced a front assembly on my iPhone 6, and transferred the original home button, but Touch ID would not activate, but the home button would remain working. However, it work work again if I transferred the home button back to my old screen. I was sure that meant the front panel was defective.

iFixit sent me a new one, but the issue is happening yet again on this assembly. Once again, I transferred my home button to the original assembly and it worked, so the home button is not damaged. Is this another defective panel, or is it something else causing Touch ID issues.

there is a metal plate behind the LCD which has a flex cable running down it. i recommend you should use the metal plate from the original screen instead of the new one as this sometimes creates problems with touch id function.

Awesome, I’ll change this out and check the flex cable.

Well, I damaged the home button cable on my original while removing the shield. Should I just get a new assembly to see if that one will work?
