How to hardwire to my LAN.
My printer has an RJ11 port. Would a simple RJ11/RJ45 adapter allow me to connect my printer to the LAN?

If this is an RJ11 telephone jack then no, it's almost certainly intended to allow you to use the printer as a fax machine.
