I just broke my front facing camera on my iphone 6. Will the 6s camera work on the 6? The 6s front cam is a few megapixels more than the 6 front cam and I'd like to try it. The connectors look in the same spot and same number of pins where where it plugs in, but the cable itself is a little differently shaped, but again, connectors are in the SAME SPOT.

yes it works, we use them sometimes when we runout of 6 front cams.

Ok, so eventhough the cable itself is shaped a little different, it still fits? Good to know. And I think the 6s front cam is higher mexapixel right?
And, while I'm here asking, how about the rear camera>? WOuld a 6s rear camera work to replace an iphone 6 rear camera?
ALso, will the iphone 6 be able to use additional megapixels the 6s cams have??
I'll try for you next time I get chance but I don't think the rears are interchangeable.
Ever find out if the rears cams from 6s and 6 are compatible yet? Never found out.
(update: I still didn't get around to installing yet, but I will soon. The 6s front cam/proximity sensor cable into an iphone 6. As mentioned by Chris is works. My next question is, I'm assuming it will work better since the 6s front cam does have higher megapixel? Hope it's not scaled down due to hardware and it will perform better than the old cam?)
DO NOT TRY IT !!! i tried to see if i could put a better camera on my 6 but the processor just gets really hot and starts burning.

Officially, these are not compatible; looking at the flexes, they are a little different. However I saw the other day an answer from a repair tech that indicated they were interchangeable (Can the iPhone 6 Plus camera fit in the iPhone 6?). I haven't tried myself but checking on a few vendor websites, none of them list them as compatible.
Hopefully someone will answer definitively otherwise, you will have to try it yourself and report back so we can all benefit.

But do you get use of all megapixels on the 6S front camera, or will it only use the 1.2 mp which the iPhone 6 normally has?
I have also tried it and can confirm that it works with the 6S front camera on the iPhone 6, but don’t know if it works the other way around though (6 front camera on iPhone 6s), I guess it should?

Does it cause any issues swapping a 6s front cam into the 6?
