Yes, Apple will replace the crown even after the warranty period.
If you still have it take it with you to either visit an Apple Store or call them to ship it to them.

Is the digital crown replacement also the click to return from another screen. Mine no longer works.
After the warranty period is over, It must be sent in to Apple Care Center... The current cost to replace the digital crown is $499.00 plus parts.....
