Bravos Dryer pulls threads in woven fabric and tares holes in terry cloth towels. Only ruff spot found is on a 3x5 plastic panel covering something on the back of the drum (looks like it was made that way intentionally),
and of course, the metal clasp that closes the door. Dryer is four years old, and runs fine otherwise.

@lham carefully check the baffles on the inside of the drum. Sometimes they crack and under pressure and heat that crack opens and laundry gets snagged in that. Let us know the exact model of your dryer so we can try and get more information. It might also help if you post some images of the "3x5 plastic panel " so that we can see what you see. @paula licciardi have you tried to remove the screen? It appears to just being pressed in.
This dryer has ruined hundreds of dollars of clothes! All my boys wear is dry fit stuff so it snags easily. Ot completely tore up a brand new comforter also. What is the fix?!?
I have the same isssue. My husbands shirts especially are all snagged and ruined. I have never had this issue before.
@dawnday same make and model? Did you check the baffles on the inside o the drum?

Pieces of fabric that get ruined usually have many threads pulled and gathered across the piece. Or if it is a towel, a large ragged hole appears. Knit fabrics don't seem to be affected.

I have this problem - terrycloth only. But I'm Certain its my Maytag Brava washer.
