I inherited my sons iPhone 5s, I put a new SIM card in which is ok but I don’t know the passcode.
How do I reset it? I don’t know if I can do this via iTunes but I don’t have my sons computer/device. I have an iPad as well as an iPhone 6s Plus as well as the cables. Please help.

To fix this problem, you need a computer with iTuned installed, a usb to lightning cord, and the phone. First open iTunes. Second you need to plug the usb into your (windows,macOS,chrome,etc). Next you need to hold either volume up and home button until you see the apple logo or power and home. Once you see the apple logo, release the power, volume up. Once the phone says “connect to iTunes”, connect the phone and pc. Follow the steps on your pc and you should be good to go!

Hi
Sorry for delay in replying. I followed all the instructions and got to the stage of pressing ‘restore’ but it kept denying as it needed a passcode to connect to iTunes to do this. I had iTunes on the screen, I tried several times but always the same answer. The iPhone is still disabled. I have scheduled to receive a call from Apple Support for tomorrow (Monday) lunchtime. I will keep you informed of my progress. Thanks for your help.

Was find my iphone disabled if it was set up?

When I turn the iPhone on it comes up with the normal screen, it then wants the passcode, if I try to guess it just says ‘phone disabled’
