Randomly Stops Charging After a Minute Then Flashes

I have a Vita which had battery problems. So I bought a new battery. Battery works but my Vita won't charge. I plug it in, the orange light is on about a minute (not blinking), the orange flashes blue for like half a second then the light goes off. Also when I turn the Vita on it stops charging. It's not the battery which I know for a fact. Vita was around 50% when I started to charge it. (When I unplug the charger from the Vita and plug it back it, it does it again. It charges for a minute and repeats.)
