I have an original 2007 60g ps3. My blu ray driver decided to stop reading games and blu rays, but can still read dvd's. Anyone had the same problem? Do I need to replace the laser, the complete driver, or just cleaning it would do the trick? And if just cleaning it, how would I go about doing this has I've never cleaned it before.

@albator2007 you could use a commercially available "laser lens cleaning kit" and see if that makes a difference. Ultimately it does sound like your Blu-ray Laser is on the fritz and the laser unit may need replacing.

That will depend on what is easier to obtain. I'd try the laser unit first.
