Why is tape/glue strip so bad?
Why is tape/glue strip so bad. It doesn't stick even after cleaning with alcohol.

Alcohol typically ruins adhesive. Ifixit recommends replacing those strips:

I would add you need to apply pressure in one direction around as you apply the cover glass and keep it under pressure for a good 12hrs to let cure. Here's a good vid of us checking out different methods: EP65 Conclusion to the iPad Sealing Workshop at the iFixit Unconfrence
