Automatically shut down once in the loading screen

So, there’s this day my laptop put inside a bag together with my water bottle and the bottle cap came off eventually flooded the whole bag. And unfortunately my laptop is inside and sinker I think 1/4 of the laptop from the fan edge there and touch bar. After I let it dried it went back to normal, but around 5 days onwards when I shut it down it start up slowly and once in the loading screen it shut down on itself. I can only start the screen when I pressed down for >3seconds, normally 1 quick press should start up the screen but now it doesn’t. Anyway is it the logic board problem? The screen is perfectly fine though. Hope to find help here!

At this point you'll need to open it up and clean out the water and any corrosion. It's a bit of work and you'll likely need parts which presently are hard to get.

You might try going to an Apple authorized service center to see if they can help you. One of the problems with wet systems is the battery can damage the circuitry if left connected. Spring/Tap water has minerals which creates issues when you add in the batteries power.

You might want to see if your insurance will cover the damage.

I wish I had better news ;-{

Hi there Dan! I’m gonna send my lappy to a apple authorised machines later morning or afternoon. I’ve checked other forums that when it contacted with water usually they wanted to change the whole thing and cost almost cost a new above average standard laptop price to repair it. If let’s say it is, should I repair it no matter how much the cost? As it is a bloody expensive! Or move on to a new laptop? Btw FYI, I’m an architectural student and I’ve found out that apple is a pain in the ass sometime when it comes to SketchUp and such though it advertised it handles pretty well. Thanks for the time! :)
