Hi @marykiera ,

What happens when you press the volume up button to increase the sound level? Does the No speaker (no sound) icon disappear?

The icon doesn't go away and the volume bar doesn't go up or down, it shows it all the way up but no sound and the little speaker has a slash through it. Some one told me the only way to fix is to reset

Hi @marykiera ,

It may be that a hard reset (or factory restore as it is also known) may resolve the problem for you.

Be aware though that a hard reset will erase all your downloaded apps and user data. It will restore the table to its' factory default condition. It will be like when you first bought it

I suggest that if you wish to try a hard reset that you first perform a backup, using the tablet's backup feature.

Then ensure that the battery is fully charged before you perform the reset.

Once the reset has been completed, check to see that the sound is now working correctly.

If the sound is still not working correctly after the hard reset then you have a hardware problem with the tablet.

If the sound is working correctly, restore the tablet from the backup you performed earlier using the tablet's restore feature and when that is completed check that the sound is still working.

If the sound is still working after the restore then the reset has fixed the problem.

If the sound is not working again after the restore then perhaps a downloaded app is causing the problem. The trick is to find out which one.

You will have to uninstall each downloaded app one by one and check whether the sound works between each uninstall. When the sound does work then the last app that you unistalled will have been the cause of the problem
