Powers on but will not boot

Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 (almost the same as S226):

Powers on, fans turn but computer will not boot. HD button blinks but does not stay on. Screen blank. HD is spinning--I can hear it. Tried using factory disc in DVD drive to no avail. Cannot enter CMOS?BIOS--remember, no display. Removed and cleaned RAM. Removed and reseated HD. Is this salvageable on a cost-effective basis? Thx.

Ralph did you connect another display to it to see if it show up on there. this way you at least have a starting point.
