I put new batteries in and the camera goes dead in a second

Cindy mcgill , From forums I have read, these camera's seem to be prone to using up the batteries very quickly because of all the auto settings which you can turn off, reset the settings to factory initial,normal back light brightness, turn off continuous focus mode, turn off display and use the view finder,etc.etc., and it is a must to use very high quality batteries Duracell 2650 mAh rechargeable batteries (NiMH) or original Sony batteries are recommended. and use proper charging procedures to aid in longer battery life.
