laptop does not power up

Hello,

My ASUS K55V laptop does not start up anymore.

First it works for 3 seconds and turned off.

Then after pressing power button, it works 2 seconds and everything goes off

Then after pressing power button, it works 1 second and everything goes off.

This looks like an empty battery.

But it does not start on charger without battery as well.

Charger is working (19 V output)

Tried already the trick of pressing 30 seconds power button with all power off (without battery) for ATX reset function. This helps nothing.

What can be the problem? Or how to fix this?

Many thanks as the laptop is only 4 years old...

robertkousbroek, Remove the battery and unplug the power supply, then hold down the power button for a minute, then reinstall battery and the power supply and pushed the power button. May have to try it a couple of times before it works. You can also try with out reinstalling battery.

You say you checked the charger and OK, is the battery voltage also OK showing charged, if not may be defective. Look in the charge port and blow/pick out(carefully) any dust/debri that may be causing an issue. Check charge port for being loose or damaged, use the link below to disassemble device so you can check for any damage/burn marks/loose components/all connections seated.
