Wont start at time.

Hi. I have a 1992 honda accord. I was having issues with the starter. It was making noises and sometimes it won't crank and usually I would have to sit for a while before I can get it to crank. I bought a new starter and it would start but that ugly noise when I crank was still there. Drove the car like that for a while now is doong it again. Any idea of what wrong. Also the battery is fairly new.

3liezer torres, there could be a problem with the teeth on the ring gear,flex-plate/flywheel which the starter has to engage into to turn engine over. When cracked/damaged/worn teeth on ring gear could intern damage the new starter. Remove starter, using a flash light look in starter hole, turn engine over by hand and inspect the ring gear/flywheel/flexplate carefully for wear/damage while rotating or have it checked by a good mechanic if you are not comfortable doing so. Below are links to show part that may be your problem and how to replace. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
