Get the digitizer assemply with or without the home button et.al.?

I will rplace the digitizer/screen on an iP5 and an iP6. (have done this for other phones)

Wondering if the extra $$ for the kit with the button, earpiece etc is worth it, there are no problems with the existing button etc.

Also, I have not yet identified the specific models of the iPhones 5/6 I am working with (although I think each is the plain version, hints about how to do that with certainty would be appreciated.

Thanks

Whether or not its worth it depends on how much experience you have with iPhone repairs. Remember that iPhone 6 has Touch Id home button that is married to the logic board, meaning that if you were to order a fully assembled lcd with a button and just install it as it came - you will forever lose the Touch Id function. Although if you aren't comfortable changing lcd shield and the front camera, proximity, ambient light sensor flex and installing the earpiece, it may be worth it to order the full assembly and switch the iPhone 6's home button. Personally, it wouldn't be worth a penny to me nowadays but on my first and second iPhone screen repair it might have!

As far as how to do it - make sure you line up every screw exactly how you took it out step by step, you don't want to drive a screw too far into the wrong hole. Take your time and follow iFixit's guide. You can do it!

Got the assy w/ot the the button. Touch ID Lives. After doing an iP4, the 5 was real easy. Working on a water damaged 6 now. If I can revive it I will replace the screen similarly, swapping in the old button.
