I press the timer button and the shutter button. The red light does not come on. I've pulled the battery and I've taken the lens off and back on that usually works when I have a problem? What am I doing wrong with the timer?

Have you ensured that you have turned the timer function on using the mode button?

Hi,
Try pressing the reset switch, located on the bottom of the camera to see if this restores the timer function.
Be aware that you will have to reset the date and time again after doing this.

yes I am trying to use the timer function button but like i said when i press it the red light does not come on when i press the shutter button and the timer does not activate.
Perfect, thank you, didn't know that button was there and I've had this camera forever.....the size of a pencil tip!
