EZ GO charger flashes 2 red lights

EZGO cart recently died after 20 minutes of operation. Pushed home and plugged the charger in and it flashed 2 red lights. Could the charger be bad?

Paul, 2 red flashes, may mean battery voltage may be too low to take a charge. there could be connection problem (clean and tighten), defective charger. You can check voltage of each individual battery and if you you find a low one, try trickle charging that battery to bring it back with smaller auto charger with appropriate charge voltage. The local golf could probably verify if the charger is the problem.Good luck.

LInk below will explain charger light/diagnostic codes further.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

So, what is the "connection problem?" Clean and tighten what? I'm having this same issue and my batteries are fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue,...bought a trickle charger, disconnected the batteries( TAKE PICTURE), charged each one separately to 75%..Then connect everything, plugged regular charger in, and it's a GO! Thank you.

Same issue. Cleaned all connections and measured voltage of 50v. Briefly got a single red blink. Then it went back to 2 reds.

I'm getting two red flashes from my EZGO charger. I used a car charger and charged two 6 volt batteries at the same time. I tried the cart charger again, same fault. I bought another charger and charged the batteries to 100 percent. I tried my EZGO charger again and got the same fault code. I opened the charger and i have 120 volts AC coming in and just under 36 volts DC coming out. So, I don't have a clue why I'm getting a fault code. I installed new batteries in Nov 2020. Twice rather than adding water, I added battery acid and twice I've added distilled water. The batteries look pristine and all connections are tight. Any idea?

I have seen a few posts where the light on the charger flashes rapidly 5 or 6 times and then goes out. I had this problem and finally figured out that the breaker for the wall plug had tripped and AC was not on. Apparently even without power the charger will still flash when it sees some DC power from the batteries when you plug the charger into the cart.

I have a exercise go cart and the charger is flashing red twice. It says it’s a battery charge fault. My question is if I leave it plugged in will it charge. I cleaned, wire brushed all terminals and link wiring. Replaced and made sure everything was tight. Will it charge using the charger or do I need to try to charge each battery individually

I have the same thing, did you figure it out? New batteries, new and/or clean terminals but 2 red lights on charger. 49.2V measured at charging receptacle on golf cart. Do I need a new charger?
