Can I replace the motherboard with a newer one?
Hi guys,
I've got a Late 2010 Macbook air 13" and its completely dead. I'm guessing it needs a logical board or io board replacement.
Since it's a quite old system, and only offers a c2d 1.86ghz cpu and 4gb ram, i was thinking of buying a some newer parts for it.
So i checked these:

MacBook Air 13" Mid 2013 Teardown
MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 Teardown
MacBook Air 13" Mid 2011 Teardown
MacBook Air 13" Late 2010 Logic Board Replacement
And the motherboards all look very similar. All the mounting points seems to match, all the cable connectors look alike.
The 2013 and 2015 seems to have a different IO board cable connection to the monitor (im guessing its the webcam cable), The harddrive seems to be different sizes aswell.
I'm guessing that i will need: New logical board (preferably 2011 or 2012), io board(?) and ssd drive.
Can anyone confirm that this will work or will it just be a whole lot of cash put into something that's just going to be a pile of scrap?
BR,
Johan
