What part would I have to replace if the microphone does not work? Whenever I try to speak on FaceTime or any other application, it will not pick up any sound.

Check the microphone hole and make sure theres no lint or dirt build up. Put a needle or something small and see if you can pick out debris but don't go through to much because you'll damage the microphone. The Microphone is located on the top of the iPad mini in the center.
